Scope :

Jewel Flow is a comprehensive enterprise resource planning (ERP) system developed for jewelry businesses to streamline their production, sales, and administrative operations. The system is designed to handle various aspects of jewelry business management, including party ledgers, production tracking, sales order and invoicing, customer ledger management, cash counter operations, HR management, barcode-based stock management, and product design cataloging.

  • Party Ledgers in Production: This feature manages and tracks the financial interactions between the business and its parties (suppliers, partners, etc.), including carry forward, rollback, and settlement of production-related accounts.
  • Sales Orders and Invoices: The system automates the creation and tracking of sales orders and invoices, ensuring that all financial transactions related to sales are accurately recorded and easily accessible.
  • Customer Ledgers: Jewel Flow provides customer ledger management tools to track and manage financial transactions with customers, helping the business maintain accurate financial records and streamline accounting processes.
  • Cash Counter Operations: The cash counter module manages inward and outward cash transactions, helping the business efficiently handle its financial flows in real-time.
  • HR Management: The HR module covers employee management, including attendance, payroll, and other HR-related tasks, ensuring accurate and efficient handling of human resources.
  • Barcode-Based Stock Management: The system integrates a barcode system for stock management, enabling efficient tracking and monitoring of inventory levels, ensuring that stock levels are accurately maintained, and preventing overstocking or shortages.
  • Product Design Catalog: Jewel Flow also includes a product design catalog module, allowing the business to manage and showcase their jewelry designs, streamlining the process of cataloging and selling products.

The system was developed using PHP for backend logic, MySQL for managing relational data, and AWS for hosting, providing a scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure for the ERP system.

The Challenge of Project

  • Complex Ledger Management: Managing party and customer ledgers in production, including carry forwards, rollbacks, and settlements, posed a significant challenge. I developed a custom ledger management system in PHP that automates these processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Barcode Stock Management: Implementing an efficient barcode-based stock management system required the integration of barcode scanning tools and real-time inventory tracking. I built a seamless integration with the inventory management system using PHP and MySQL, ensuring that stock levels were always up-to-date and accurate.
  • Scalable Infrastructure: Hosting the ERP on AWS allowed for scalable performance and ensured that the system could handle increased data loads as the business grew. AWS provided the necessary cloud resources for high availability and security of the system.

Outcome:

The Jewel Flow system successfully transformed the operational efficiency of the jewelry business by providing a comprehensive platform that manages both the financial and operational aspects of production, sales, and inventory. Key outcomes include:
