Scope :

Panel Flow is a comprehensive customer relationship management (CRM) system developed specifically for an MCB (Miniature Circuit Breaker) panel manufacturing company. The system streamlines and manages all critical processes involved in panel manufacturing, from design to resource management. Key features include dynamic panel designing, BOM (Bill of Materials) generation, inquiry management, HR management with biometric integration, document management, and notifications/reminders for various business processes.

  • Dynamic Panel Designing: The system enables the company to create and manage dynamic panel designs, allowing customization based on client requirements. This feature helps the company maintain flexibility and efficiency in designing MCB panels for different applications.
  • BOM Generation and Management: The CRM automates the generation of the Bill of Materials (BOM) for each panel design, ensuring that all necessary components are accounted for. The system also supports combined BOM for larger projects that require the integration of multiple panels.
  • Inquiry Management: PanelX manages customer inquiries, tracking them from initial contact through to quotation and order fulfillment, ensuring that no potential lead is missed and all inquiries are processed efficiently.
  • Human Resource Management (Biometric-Based): The system includes an HR module that integrates with biometric devices to track employee attendance, ensuring accurate and efficient management of the workforce. The module also handles payroll, leave management, and employee records.
  • Document Management: The document management feature allows the company to store, track, and organize critical documents related to production, compliance, and client interactions, ensuring that all documentation is easily accessible when needed.
  • Notifications and Reminders: Automated notifications and reminders help ensure that critical tasks such as order deadlines, production schedules, and HR-related activities are completed on time, improving overall operational efficiency.

The system was built using Laravel for the backend to provide a robust and scalable framework, with MySQL as the database for managing relational data, and hosted on AWS to ensure scalability, security, and availability.

The Challenge of Project

  • Dynamic Panel and BOM Generation: Managing the dynamic generation of panel designs and corresponding BOMs required a flexible backend. I implemented a modular system in Laravel that allowed for the customization of panel designs and automated BOM creation based on the specific requirements of each design.
  • Biometric Integration for HR: Integrating biometric devices for attendance tracking posed a challenge in ensuring real-time data capture and processing. By utilizing Laravel’s task scheduling and real-time processing capabilities, I created a seamless integration with biometric devices that allowed for accurate HR management.
  • Document Organization and Retrieval: Storing and organizing critical documents in a way that ensured easy retrieval was crucial for the company. I developed a document management module that categorized and indexed documents, allowing users to quickly search and retrieve files as needed.
  • Automated Notifications: Keeping the company on track with timely reminders was essential for operational efficiency. I leveraged Laravel’s notification system to automate reminders for various tasks, ensuring that no important deadlines or activities were missed.
